Young Ringers

Young members are encouraged to participate in all association events and practices. We occasionally hold specific events for younger ringers so watch the calendar or let your district master know you're interested and would like to be kept informed.

Alternatively let your District Master know you're interested and would like to be kept informed.

There is also a Young Ringers group included in each of the Association Training Days  based at Wimbledon in March and at Bletchingley in November.

If you are under 18 and have just rung your first quarter peal you may be eligible for an award (see below).

Peter and Leslie Burnett Award

Peter and Leslie Burnett, both Life members of the Surrey Association, were dedicated ringers

at their home tower, St Peter and St Paul Nutfield. They were especially enthusiastic about

supporting young people and developing local bands.  In her will, Leslie left a sum of money to

the Association.

This award is intended to set an achievable goal for ringers under 18 years old and to acknowledge accomplishments that are within their reach.

Details:

· Every member of the Association who has not yet reached their 18th birthday (at the time of ringing) is eligible for this award.

· When they ring or they conduct their first peal or quarter peal (treble, tenor or inside), they will be offered a £25 voucher. This will be presented at the next suitable opportunity.

· Application must be made to the General Secretary within 3 months of the peal or the quarter peal.

· Limited funds that will be used until the legacy runs out.

· Only one award per person.
