Library
The Association holds a collection of published books and unpublished documents and records in private homes. The Book Collection comprises published books on ringing in general whilst the Archive Collection consists of the Peal Books and many other documents relating to Surrey bells and ringers (plus historical records of the workings of the Association).
Any member of the Association can have access to any item in either collection. Items from the Archive Collection may not be removed except by the Archivist for Association purposes. Resident members of the Association can borrow items from the Book Collection in accordance with the following rules and conditions:
1. Books can be borrowed by personal collection from the Book Collection, provided that the borrower's name appears in the current membership list.
2. Borrowing is subject to the following conditions:
Borrowers are responsible for items borrowed.
Up to 3 items may be borrowed aby any one person at a time.
Loans are for up to 28 days (a further 28 days on request).
Renewal of a loan can be made by post or telephone.
The Librarian reserves the right to refuse any loan or reduce the loan period if a book is in demand.
3. Because of normal Library rules requiring undertakings from guardians of persons under the age of 16 years, junior members of the Association under 16 should arrange for a senior member to borrow on their behalf.
4. Because of their special value, items from the Archive Collection are not available for loan, but can be studied by private arrangement with the Archivist.
5. There are no formal times for Library lending. Intending borrowers should contact the Archivist or Librarian to arrange details of access.

There are many more items in this collection worth looking at. The copy of Stahlschmidt was donated to the County by Ronald Dove and contains his annotations collected during his many years of working for Gillett and Johnston, and is a mine of detailed information on Surrey bells.
