History

Christ Church was built in the 1890s and the original bells were a 12 cwt. ring of 8. In 1992 they were changed to a brand new set of 8 weighing only 8 cwt. as the earlier ring had been found to be too heavy for the tower. The old bells were re-hung in Hawley, Hampshire with the new replacement bells proving to be very suited to the tower, and ring extremely well.
