The Surrey band were third in this year's Essex Trophy ringing Cambridge Surprise Royal.  Congratulations to home team Essex on their win.  Kent were second and Guildford, Hertford and Sussex made up the six places.

The Surrey band were in order from the treble, Diane Reynolds, Jill Leale, Irene Rich, Sheila Cheesman, Anne Rueff, Mike Moreton, Roger Grieve, David Wallis, Robin Leale and Jeremy Cheesman (see photo on in the gallery). We got off to a nervous start but the second half of the course of Cambridge Royal was excellent. Afterwards the judges remarked that we might have done extremely well if the ringing had been so good throughout.

Thank you to all the band for making it such a pleasant day out, to the Reigate ringers and church for our practice and for many Surrey members who sent us good wishes.

Next year we go to Hertfordshire on 10th September.
