Ten friends gathered at St Bartholmew, Horley on Sunday afternoon to ring for a special occasion - the 40th wedding anniversary of Robin and Kay Grant.  After a plain course, eight remained to ring a quarter peal of Grandsire Triples.  This surprise for Robin worked out perfectly as he was just about to ring Hazel Spring to ask who was ringing when she phoned to let him know of the secret arrangements.  The happy couple then met the band at the successful conclusion of the quarter and then most adjourned to The Six Bells.
