Publications

The Bookstall

A bookstall is run at some Association meetings and training events. The bookstall includes a wide selection of books from the Central Council Publications and other sources, and covers a wide range of subjects from bell maintenance to the ringing of bells and handbells.  Included in the stock of books are copies of Dove's Guide for Church Bell Ringers and the Companion series of books written by Steve Colman, a former Surrey member.

If you are interested in a particular publication, send an email to familydavies [at] care4free [dot] net (Lawrence Davies) who would be happy to order special requests.  Once available, the network of ringers will soon make sure it finds its way to you.

Annual Report of The Surrey Association

Surrey Association Annual Reports

The Association's Annual Report is published once a year at the Annual General Meeting in May.

The booklet contains the reports and accounts from the various committees, a detailed listing of all towers in the Association and its members.  A map on the inside the back cover shows the location of each tower in the Association and a list of practice nights is provided for handy reference.

The Annual Report is issued free to all members of the Association.  Additional copies can be purchased from the gensec [at] surreybellringers [dot] org [dot] uk (General Secretary) for just £2 inlcuding postage.

'All About Bells' Leaflets

We have recently created a new leaflet called 'All About Bells'.  This leaflet (A4, double-sided, folded into 3) is a basic introduction to bells, bell ringers and the Surrey Association.  It is intended for use in tower open days, and to keep in information stands in churches foyers.  Copies will also be kept with the display boards to hand out to visitors.

If you would like extra copies of the leaflet, you can either download a pdf version from this website, or send an email to the profficer [at] surreybellringers [dot] org [dot] uk (PR Officer), requesting for copies to be posted to your tower.

It is available in A3 or A4 size and can be downloaded from the Central Council’s website as a pdf or Word document.
