The ringing chamber is on the ground floor at the rear of the church and entry gained through the main church door.

History

All Saints Banstead is an attractive flint faced building with a tiled roof and sturdy tower which is surmounted by a shingled spire with a cross and gilded cock atop of it. The oldest parts of the church date back to 1190 - 1220. The bells are a magnificent ring cast by Gillett and Johnston in the early 1920s.

Transport

By Bus: Buses run regularly to the High Street from Sutton.

By Train: To Banstead station from Victoria - the church is a 12-minute walk. To Sutton station from Victoria and take a bus to Banstead High Street.

By Road: The church is on the south side of the High Street (B2217), in Banstead village, and signposted from the A217 (Sutton - Reigate road). Access from M25 is at junction 8. A number of parking spaces are available in the churchyard with free parking in the High Street, but on a first come basis during shopping hours. A ‘Pay and Display’ park is also available next door to the church.

Facilities

The Church’s coffee shop “Open Door”, where toilet facilities are available, is sited in the church grounds and open Monday - Saturday 10 am - 2 pm.

At either end of the High Street are The Woolpack and The Victoria pubs with bar food available, together with a spread of restaurants and bistros providing for most tastes.
